Volvo Group IT Graduate Program – Business Analyst

The IT Graduate Development Program is an entry-level program designed to provide recent college graduates with an opportunity to work in challenging environments while learning how our organization provides complete transport solutions. Applicants must have successfully completed degree in 2018, 2019, or no later than June 2020.

During 12 intense and exciting months, starting September 2020 you will be given a unique opportunity to gain a holistic view of the Volvo Group and the IT community. It will be kick-start to your career through different assignments or parts of the organization, networking, and professional and personal development. Upon completion of the program, you will continue to work in the position you were recruited in, either in the same delivery or in another assignment. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will work on real projects, side by side with colleagues across the globe. In parallel, you and your fellow graduate program participants will take part in common learning modules designed to help you grow your network, develop as a person and prepare you for your future career in the Volvo Group.
You will join a Solution Center at Volvo Group IT, called “EE/ESW/EPTS”. We provide customized electrical- and embedded software solutions for our customers within the Volvo Group, both “In-house” developed, as well as COTS (Commercial off the shelf) solutions, provided by our suppliers/partners.
We deliver IT solutions supporting RnD, Production, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, and Data Security.
We are a divided in 7 groups, located in Poland, India and Sweden.
You will be part of the ESW Configuration and Release team, located in Lundby area, Gothenburg. Our team consists of about 25 highly skilled colleagues, with a mix of Volvo employees as well as consultants. Today we are organized in four different “Delivery teams”, where each team has their own Backlog.
We are an “In-house” development team, who design and develop our own customized “fit-for-purpose” SW-solutions, to support the users across the different Truck Divisions and Business Areas (TD/BA’s) of the Volvo Group.
We work Agile and integrate experiments and POC’s (Proof of concepts) as part of our development work. We are responsible for a range of important applications, with high demand on support and availability.
We deliver and release our SW in Kanban/Scrum mode and utilize Daily’s, Refinements and Retrospectives in our normal work.
We strive for being a true DevOps team with automated Release & Test process and we have come quite far in this journey already.
We are located right in the middle of our users in the Electrical Department of Group Truck Technology, where we have a lot of interactions with our users.
Our team supports the Engineering departments at Group Truck Technology, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Bus Corporation and Volvo Penta, with SW-capabilities and being an enabler for the internal embedded software (ESW) development in these organizations.
Our applications also support the release process for Production and Aftermarket, by providing the “right” SW for the right purposes.
In our team, you will work as a Business Analyst, being part of one or more Delivery team(s) together with highly skilled Architects, Application Developers and Solution Leaders (Product owners).
You will be responsible for bringing the needs of the customers, into defined requirements for the Developers, by breaking down high-level Business needs into Epics and User-stories, to enable the Developers to start design and create the right solutions. In this process you will have a lot of interaction with our Business stakeholders and users as well as with your Delivery team, where you will play an important role and work most closely together with the Product Owner and the Lead Developer.
  • You will develop a WoW together with your Delivery team and establish and maintain a good stakeholder relationship in the ESW community of the Volvo Group.
  • Work in pre-studies, projects or in runtime delivery
  • Drive and support in change management initiatives
To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • A BSc or MSc in Engineering science, Computer science, Business Administration or equivalent
  • A passion for IT
  • Maximum two years previous working experience prior to, or after graduation
  • Solid English skills
  • Valid work permit for the country to which you apply.
