Application Engineer-Industrial

We are currently searching for a talented and enthusiastic application engineer to work with our distributors and direct customers to install Volvo Penta engines effectively and to our recommendations.
Some of the core responsibilities for this position will include, but not limited to:
  • Act as a key point of contact for our OEMs and Industrial Engine Distributors in both the U.S. and Canada, responsible for engine integration and application engineering for allocated accounts
  • Role encompasses engine configuration, installation design and quality in accordance with our recommendations
  • Develop installation and application methods and tools, carrying out engine performance reviews for industrial diesel installations
  • Work with our team in Sweden regarding unique engine equipment combinations and provide product and program information regarding competitors
  • Work with our Industrial Sales team to develop product plans and programs to achieve sales goals and increase market
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in the Industrial engine applications field preferred
  • Knowledge and experience regarding application of diesel engines for generator and variable speed industrial engines—both mechanical and electrical/electronic
  • Experience with and well-versed in EPA legislation and requirements
